Membership includes companies and individuals engaged in breeding, hatching, rearing and processing chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese to produce poultry meat. The BPC does not represent producers of table egg.

Associate Membership is open to related companies including suppliers and customers of the sector, and poultry research institutes.

The council unifies seven sector groups covering different poultry species and aspects of their production; Chicken Sector Group, Turkey Sector Group, Duck Sector Group, Goose Sector Group, Chicken Breeders and Hatcheries Sector Group, Primary Breeders Sector Group and Hen Packers Sector Group
