The online information exchange for the UK's rural organisations

Listing your events on the NationalRural website

What sort of events are suitable for the website?

  • We are particularly interested in open access rural events , where anyone can come along (subject to your specified ‘ticket price’, if any).
  • We ask that you always include a postcode for the event venue (even if this may take you a little time to find). This will show the location of your event on our online maps.
  • Typical events include:
    • Open Days
    • Evening or daytime meetings or courses on a specific topic
    • Discussion groups
    • Training workshops
    • Network meetings
    • Shows and exhibitions

When does my event ‘go live’ on the website?

Your event goes immediately on to the website, but, like all content, is subject to review by NationalRural staff for suitability and accuracy.

What about members-only events?

These are not normally listed. If you wish to develop a separate events website for your own membership organisation, we will be happy to advise on how this can be done.

What additional charges may be made for events listings?

Events listings are normally free to clubs, societies and other voluntary groups. However, larger organisations wishing to publish a lot of events may be subject to a negotiated annual charge. If your organisation wishes to automate its events listings on NationalRural, we may be able to assist you, subject to a negotiated fee.

Price summary for events listings:

Free for clubs, societies, networks, rural projects, voluntary sector organisations, universities and colleges

By negotiation for other public sector organisations and agencies, private sector advisors and consultants.

Depending on company size, the charge starts at £50 annual fee for 1-5 staff members. For automating events listings on the website, with the assistance of NationalRural staff, a consultation fee will be charged.

Events will be communicated via an e-mail update service to site users. An updated charging schedule will be published when this service is introduced in 2007
