Profile
The Society is a division of the British Veterinary Association but welcomes membership among non-veterinary academics and among goatkeepers, and out of the current membership of around 190, some 40 or so are not veterinary surgeons.
Two meetings are held annually, sometimes incorporating a visit to an establishment of interest, and the society tries to rotate its meetings around the country, though concentrating slightly on those areas where membership is greatest.
Each meeting lasts from 10.00am to 4.00pm and aims to include scientific papers alongside practical goatkeepers aspects, and an update on any topical matters affecting goats and their keepers.
